    why does the sun go through cycles of sunspots, and can we see sunspots on any other sun's?

    Hi Caitlin;

    Yes,we are beginning to be able to observe "starspots", but only those which are pretty big compared to the stellar surface. In fact, we are starting to be able to measure the magnetic fields of thse starspots. A good introductory page is at
