What color are sunspots?

are sunspots green, yellow, black ect....

Hello, Sunspots appear black, because they are about 1000 degrees cooler in temperature than the background photosphere of the Sun. However, if one could take a sunspot out of the surface of the Sun, and move it so that we could see it in the sky, the sunspot would look just about as bright as the Sun, since it has a temperature of 4000 degrees Celsius. It would look white, like the Sun, since sunlight is a mixture of all colors of the rainbow. Isabel Hawkins
