    if the sun and other stars are sohot then how do we get such good pics of them? Lauren

    Hi.

    Well, I think the question is more how to take pictures of things that are bright. It is true, though, that the Sun is bright because it is hot.
    We have to use filters to cut down in the brightness of the Sun - if we didn't it would indeed be too bright.

    For stars brightness is generally not a problem. they are so far away they appear to us to be relatively dim (although if you were up close they would also be bright). Because of this astronomers have to use different telescopes for solar and nighttime observing, or else put very strong filters on the telescopes before they point them at the Sun. Because the stars are so far awary we dont get nearly such good pictures of them as we would like!
