Hi Caitlyn, It certainly did take a lot of work to become a scientist. I (and other scientists) studied a lot of science and math in school. Other subjects, especially reading and writing, are important too. I went to college and majored in physics and then to graduate school for another six years studying some more and doing research with my professors. By the time you are in graduate school, though, you are also working doing science research and often teaching - it is not all classes. cheers, Terry

Hi Caitlyn, I agree with Terry, that is was hard but it was also rewarding. I majored in math and physics in college and also took six years in graduate school. This means all together, I was in school from kindegarten to 22nd grade! Even though it was hard, I really enjoyed most of my classes and had some really supportive teachers. Laura
