    We do all kinds of things:
    we first think of what we are trying to find out about the Sun;
    then we try to read everything anybody has ever done on this subject;
    we collect observations made by telescopes, and try to describe and understand what we see;
    we write computer programs to look at the observations;
    we write all this down so everybody can test it.
    To talk about all of this with other scientists, we go to conferences.
