    Carmen W,

Does the sun effect other planets, beyond mars, since there so far away?

    Hi Carmen,

This is a good question. On Earth, many things far away cannot be influenced by near-by events because the atmosphere will slow things down or other things get in the way. But out in space, there isn't much to get in the way of the solar wind or the Sun's magnetic field or the Sun's light. All of these things do have less affect on the planets far away, but they do still affect planets - even pluto!

    Laura
