Hi - that sounds exactly like something I wrote to myself when I was in elementary school! I think the most important thing is to keep being curious about everything, and also keep being skeptical and questioning about what may seem like too-simple or sloppy answers. That will make you a good scientist...there's no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. Hard work in science and math - but also working on writing and communication skills is important (the best ideas will stay only with you if you cannot communicate them effectively to the outside world). With regards to prizes, a lot of that can be luck or lack thereof. Recognition and respect will come for doing good, careful work...and the prize you give yourself for figuring something out that is new and interesting is pride and a sense of accomplishment. There are many prizes besides the Nobel which are prestigious, but not winning one doesn't mean you're not a good scientist - sometimes there's an age cut-off or a nationality requirement or this or that. Be a good scientist to satisfy your own curiosity and interests, and the recognition will come.

    Cheers, -KD
