    Hi Kris,

When I was a graduate student, my Ph.D. thesis advisor named her computers after famous animals that had been in space on early U.S. and Soviet rockets. We put together a web site about them that shows some images of postage stamps with pictures of Soviet space dogs from that era. It is still online, but it is a bit old-fashioned looking: http://ham.space.umn.edu/kris/animals.html

I don't personally own any of the old Soviet space stamps, but I do have some U.S. stamps with pictures of the aurora or northern lights on them.
