The Sun is the primary energy source for Earth, and it has been observed and celebrated throughout human history. The season for zenith passages of the Sun in the Mayalands has begun. In this Webinar we’ll describe the special significance of solar zenith passage as well as its other seasonal stations. We’ll discuss how Maya people have understood and expressed their ideas about the Sun through the ages. Next, we’ll summarize current research about the Sun. Finally, we will demonstrate an activity and showcase some educational resources that you can use with your audiences to better understand the Sun better.
