Hi Ellen! When I was a kid I had a telescope that I used to look at Saturn and Jupiter. I could see Saturn's rings, and also some of Jupiter's moons. I also have a small, inexpensive telescope with a built-in solar filter that I used to watch the solar eclipse in 2017. You should never look at the Sun with a telescope unless it has a special solar filter to protect your eyes. Kris
