Hi I'm Tyler Jacobs and I wanted to know, will the sun ever disappear, explode, or burn up?

    Hi Tyler!

Sun is now in peaceful phase of its evolution and will continue so for a long time still. Actually, Sun does not even have enough mass to explode. It after having burned-up most of its hydrogen fuel in the core (about 5 billion years!) heat-up and expand as a red giant. finally the outer envelopes of the Sun will be expelled away to planetary nebulae and the reminder becomes a white dwarf. The white dwarf radiates slowly its energy and turns into a black dwarf. If you want to read more details go for example here: http://faculty.wcas.north...bsite/evolution.html
