    When is the next super nova going to occour? will it hurt our atmosphere (Dylan I FWMS)

    Dylan -

    No one really knows when the next supernova will occur. Generally, we see

    lots of supernovae in the night sky in our own galaxy and we see the explosions

    in other galaxies. So we know they happen all the time, though generally so far

    away that they don't hurt our atmosphere. I believe our sun is a bit too small to

    supernova, anyway.
