    The sunspot size ranges from a few hundred kilometers to over 100 000 km. See below a figure that compares the size of the Earth to a sunspot. I read that average size would be about that of the Earth. And here are statistics about the biggest sunspots recorded http://spaceweather.com/sunspots/history.html
