    Hi Evelyn,

I don't really have a huge stamp or coin collection, but I have saved a few interesting coins and stamps from my travels to different places around the world. I also have a sheet of those Star Wars stamps issued by the US Post Office a couple of years ago and some stamps with images of the aurora on them to celebrate the International Polar Year. A long time ago I helped put together a web site about animals in space. On this web site, there are some images of stamps commemorating the early Soviet space flights in the 1950s and 1960s. You can see the web site here - http://ham.space.umn.edu/kris/animals.html

I had a fairly extensive coin collection that I inherited from my father (who had been in World War 2). But (several years ago) I let my daughter take the album to elementary school and it disappeared. (sigh). But yes, when I'm visiting a foreign country I like to bring back commemorative stamps... it's an inexpensive, beautiful, and lightweight souvenir! Some of the stamps have a space or astronomy theme... I have an especially beautiful space set from Australia and some nice space ones from Madagascar. Coins and paper money are also easy to collect but I don't recall any with the sun on them.

    Hi Evelyn!

In Finland where I live now a stamp series with aurora will be released this year (so not excatly the picture of the Sun, but something beatiful related to the activity from the Sun). The pictures have been taken by Jouni Jussila. Below are some sample images how pretty the stamps will look!

Hi Evelyn I don't really collect coins or stamps though I do have some special "space" stamps that my great uncle sent me when I graduated from college. He was a big stamp collector and was so excited that I was going to work at NASA that he sent me a congratulations card that was covered in space & NASA related stamps. Dawn
