Engaging Latinos In Space science and Aeronomy (ELISA) was a NASA-funded project with the goals of

  • engaging and educating teacher leaders and teachers of Latino/Hispanic students in space and atmospheric sciences and
  • inspiring and engaging Latino/Hispanic families through community outreach activities.
We implemented teacher professional development workshops integrated with community outreach events for Latinos in San Rafael and Salinas, CA, including science activities and public talks. We also launched a GEMS site for teacher Professional Development in San Antonio, TX.
