    Hi Raja,

    Yes, indeed it does. Things happening at the Sun like flares (bright
    explosions near the Sun's surface), coronal mass ejections (giant
    clouds that blast away from Sun into space), and coronal
    holes (places on the Sun that emit fast solar wind) can cause conditions
    in space and Earth's upper atmosphere and magnetic field to change. We
    call this "space weather". Space weather can lead to problems with radio
    communications, spacecraft, and power lines. It can also cause the
    beautiful aurora - lights that form high up in Earth's atmosphere.
