    I heard that scientists were studying the possibility of ice being on the planet Mercury. How could this be, when it's so close to the sun?

    Yes, its sounds really strange, doesn't it?
    The places where there is thought to be ice on Mercury are craters near the poles where the Sun never shines, so they can still be cold. There are similar to the locations where there is ice on the Moon.
