Yes, the Sun does make noise. As far back as 1949, Ruby Payne-Scott published a paper in the Australian Journal of Scientific Research A, about radio noise from the Sun. There is steady emission of radio frequencies from the Sun and also radio "bursts". The radio emission from the Sun also show the solar cycle that we see in the increase and decrease of sunspots.
