Is the sun quiet or does it make sounds?

Yes, the Sun does make noise. As far back as 1949, Ruby Payne-Scott published a paper in the Australian Journal of Scientific Research A, about radio noise from the Sun. There is steady emission of radio frequencies from the Sun and also radio "bursts". The radio emission from the Sun also show the solar cycle that we see in the increase and decrease of sunspots. Ham radio operators frequently "hear" the Sun, as you will too at this site:

The Sun also rings like a giant bell, though not that we can hear it. Sound waves deep inside the Sun bounce around inside the star. We can measure the sound waves with special tools that measure tiny vibrations in the solar surface, a bit like earthquakes. This is called "Helio-Seismology". Seismology comes from earthquakes, and "helio" is a greek word relating to the Sun. You can read a slightly more advanced blog post about this at https://www.nso.edu/blog/...suns-acoustic-modes/
