Hi - I have two children, slightly older now (9 and 11), but with their homework and schedules, it still takes a lot of time. I am lucky to work in a place with a very flexible schedule, so I often am at the office only between 9am and 3pm, but then do additional work at home, either at night, or while the kids are doing homework, etc. I will often work weekends. Luckily I like what I do, so working on the weekends can be pleasurable. When the childen were younger, I sometimes did not work full-time. Many other scientists have children; being able to build flexibility into work schedules is very important.

Hello Becca I have a 3year old and as Leka mentioned I am blessed to have a flexible work environment. I tend to put in a bunch of hours over the weekends and when my daughter is asleep. It is certainly difficult to juggle at times, but well worth it:> Dawn
