Do you think 10 years from now you'll still be sturdying the sun, if not, what might you be doing? thanks...

Probably. Although sometimes I want to go open a bakery. :-)

    Hi Sam,

Actually, not all of the Solar Week scientists study the Sun. I mainly study processes in the Earth's magnetosphere that are related to the interactions between Earth's magnetic field and the solar wind. Some of my recent work has been on radio waves in the Van Allen radiation belts during geomagnetic storms. I am also analyzing data from a NASA sounding rocket that was launched in Alaska a while back and doing simulations of a detector that will be flown on the upcoming Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission. I don't know where I will be in 10 years, but hopefully I will be continuing my research on Earth's magnetosphere or else working in the aerospace industry.

    Kris
