Hi Debra! Solar eclipse occurs when a Moon passes between the planet and the Sun.

Mars has two moons Phobos and Deimos. However, at Mars when its moons are passing over the solar disk they do not cover the whole solar disk as can happen during the solar eclipses at the Earth. It is actually quite a coincidence that our Moon is just at the right size and at right distance to fully cover the solar disk! Deimos is so small and far away that when it is seen only as a small dot at the solar disk (first image). Phobos creates a more notable eclipse (second image).
