    Hi.

    We don't expect the Sun to actually explode, but we do expect it to start expandng biger and biger until it reaches the orbit of the Earth! Then it is called a "red giant" star That won't be for another 5 billion years or so, which is a really long time. Some bigger stars do explode, though.
