    Dear Caitlyn,

I have never been in space (unfortunately!), and the solar eclipses that we see here on Earth happen because the Moon sits in just the right position between the Sun and the Earth to block the Sun's disk. If you are out in space, you might see a solar eclipse if you're not too far from Earth. If you are located far away from the Earth, then the Moon will not properly block the solar disk to provide an eclipse. As far as I know, no one has experienced a solar eclipse from outer space.
