do scientists have hobbies that have to do with science or do you have hobbies that have nothing to do with science like say, swimming, beading, horse back riding, ect. ???

also, do you bealive that humans are born with the secrets of the univerce? i know that some people like dowsers bealive that.

oh and i wrote a question yesterday for Dr. Sallie Baliunas about becoming a scientist and i have not gotten a reply (the subject was: Becoming a scientist; for Dr. Sallie Baliunas).

    Hi Sarah,

I enjoy gardening and growing orchids. Some of the discussions at my local orchid society get rather scientific, so this hobby is sort of related to science, even though it is not related to my job as a space scientist. I also like doing more artistic things in my spare time, like making stained glass windows and mosaics. I've also taken ballroom dance lessons, but I'm not very good at it.

I don't know much about "dowsers" and I would prefer not to comment on my religious beliefs. As a scientist, I have worked with people from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Although some scientists are very open about their religion, many scientists prefer not to discuss their personal religious beliefs at work, in order to show respect for the diverse backgrounds of their co-workers.
