Becoming a scientist; for Dr. Sallie Baliunas: I read your bio., and I read how sometimes you stay up all night and sleep during the day. When you were young, did you like to stay up late and did your mom ever call you a ''night owl''? because I do and it sounds like a good job for me. I am homeschooled and I also do good school work at night although my mom does not like to stay up with me. Sarah E. B.

when you are moving in a vechicle does the sun move with you or are you just moving and the sun is staying? thank you, Hailey

hailey, no the sun does not move with you; it aperes that it does because the sun is so far away. (or at least thats what my teacher told me when i asked). cheers, sarah ps i am not a scientist

Sarah, Yes, I did enjoy staying up at night when I was young, and once my parents let me stay awake in the living room until dawn, while they slept. I wasn't scared, though; while I read my dog Freckles kept me company. I'll bet I napped some of the time, though. Because the stars I watch come out at night, it means working at the telescope throughout the night! Good wishes, Sallie

This is a repost Sarah, Yes, I did enjoy staying up at night when I was young, and once my parents let me stay awake in the living room until dawn, while they slept. I wasn't scared, though; while I read my dog Freckles kept me company. I'll bet I napped some of the time, though. Because the stars I watch come out at night, it means working at the telescope throughout the night! Good wishes, Sallie

Sallie, I bet my dog Skippy would love to stay up with me all night; he is a puppy and still has to sleep in his box, which is down stairs (and my family and I sleep up stairs) so some times he is lonely. I like to read alot and I was wondering what books you liked to read when you were a kid. Thanks for writing back, Sarah EB
