How important is it for a kid who is interested in becoming a scientist to do internships or go to science camps?
Did any of you do those things?

    Hi,

I didn't do any of these things as a kid, but there also weren't as many available back then.

I would say that it isn't critical to do them, but they may help you explore the different kinds of sciences and see what really excites you.

You can also explore different sciences once you get to college. Summer internships during college are great for helping you pick not just a general science (say, chemistry over physics) but what area of science you might want to do. There are usually lots of opportunities to do this once you get to college... and quite a few when you are in high school.
