Do any of you use solar power at home?

Yes, I do. I have a 2 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system, which is tied to the electrical grid. The Tennessee Valley Authority pays me 8 cents per kilowatt-hour of power the Sun generates for me. I also have solar-thermal panels that heat my water. In summer, I essentially pay nothing for hot water.
