    Could a very large comet, if it were to hit the sun, cause any changes to the sun? thank you...

    Hi there. Comets hit the Sun all the time, but since even the big ones are teeny tiny compared to the enormous Sun, they tend to just burn up/melt as they approach the Sun. Since comets are generally icy, the cannot hold their structure without melting as they approach the million degree solar atmosphere called the corona.
