How does the sun effect the outer planets, does it effect them the same as earth, more, or less?

The Sun effects the outer planets just the way it affexts earth EXCEPT the light energy decreases rapidly the further out you are in the solar system. There is not enough energy in the sunlight falling on bodies in the outer solar system to keep water liquid.
