Any of you seen the eclipse last week? Did you do anything special?

Yep, I sure did see the eclipse last week! At UC Berkeley's Space Sciences Lab, we had a "patio party" so that people could get together to watch the eclipse. There is a nice patio outside one of the lab buildings that overlooks the SF Bay area, including the Golden Gate bridge. It was a great place to observe the eclipse. We had several solar telescopes set up and also a sunspotter that one of the lab scientists had made. We were lucky that the skies were clear. It was a good time! -Nancy

Also, I forgot to mention that I recorded a podcast about cultural perspectives of solar eclipses for 365 Days of Astronomy. You can listen to it at http://cosmoquest.org/x/3...3rd-solar-eclipses/.

I tried to watch the eclipse last week, but it clouded up here in Huntsville just as the eclipse started. We did have an eclipse party at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, where we had a video feed from Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles where it was clear. We (some NASA folks) also had a Twitter chat about the eclipse.
