    Hi Erin,

I haven't been to India but I do know there are many solar-related temples there. The Hindu Sun god is Surya. The largest temple in India devoted to Surya worship is at Konarak in Orissa on the Bay of Bengal. It was built in the 13th century but people still hold festivals there today to observe dawn. The temple complex is built as though it is a chariot for the Sun god.
