    How many if any UV rays do astronouts absoerb when they are in a rocket or space shutle?

    Hi,

    Actually not many as the astronauts are mostly protected by their space suits and/or the rocket or space shuttle itself. UV rays are pretty easy to stop. The danger to astronauts is more the high energy particles or X-rays that can come from large coronal mass ejections and large flares on the Sun.
