How much can the temperature change during a total solar eclipse, especially like in places like africa?

    Hi Nikki,

I don't know but it is probably something similar to the difference between when the Sun is out and just after the Sun sets. During totality it wouldn't be as cold as it would be at night time mostly because the Earth (and rocks etc) absorb heat during the day and then take a while to cool off at night and the duration of an eclipse isn't long enough for substantial cooling.

    Best,

    Christina
