cynthia m I know aurora's are caused by solar storms, and have seen pictures of them on other planets like jupiter and saturn. Have they been seen on neptune or uranus?

    Hi Cynthia
There is a mention of the aurora on Uranus and Neptune here:
    http://www.windows.ucar.e...ra.html&edu=high
    http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/neptune/magnetosphere/N_aurora.html
(The image they show is not actually the Earth, though), although I found another place where it said that aurora had only been detected on Earth, Jupiter, Saturn & Uranus.

There are some pictures or plots of aurora on Uranus here, although the article is pretty long and technical.

I am not a big expert on this, but I should probably say that I think aurora on Jupiter have more to do with its interactions with its moon Io than the solar wind.

    Terry.
