steve h (da) How come if a star collapses, literally having nothing left in terms of gases or anything, how does it form a black hole?

Hi Steve.
There is material left - lots of it. Black holes have material in them, it is just that they are so dense and their gravity is so strong that none of the material and not even light given off by the material can get out.
