Why are sun spots located on magnetic fields? Are there any that aren't?

Hi Annie!
Sunspots are there
because
of the magnetic fields, so no there aren't any sunspots where the are not magnetic fields. The magnetic fields keep the heat coming up from inside the sun from getting to the surface properly - the hot material comes up in huge riseing bubbles of hot material, and the magnetic fields prevent that. As a result the areas with high magnetic fields are a cooler and as a result darker than other areas on the sun's surface. The result is a sunspot.
