why does the sun burn you?????????????????????????????

Hi Tommy.
The sun gives off ultraviolet (UV) light. Most ultraviolet light from the sun is blocked by the Earth's atmosphere, but some of it gets through. UV is higher energy than visible light and can burn your skin. That is why it is important to keep covered up and wear sun screen if you spend much time outside in the sun.
