    becky (dia) how come there are no sunspots near the suns north or south pole?

    Hi Becky.
    This is actually something scientists are working to understand. Observations of cooler more active stars than the sun seem to show that they do have sunspots near their poles. So maybe if the Sun had a stronger, more active magnetic field it would have spots at its poles.
