    Hi Jacquelyn,

When I was a kid I really liked horses and drew lots of pictures of them. I went horseback riding at Girl Scout Camp and on school field trips, but I never took lessons or had my own horse. I also read a lot of stories about horses and horse racing. Some of my favorite books were "The Black Stallion" series and the books by Marguerite Henry about "Misty of Chincoteague." I visited Assateague Island a few years ago to see the wild horses like Misty that live there.

I don't do a lot of drawing anymore, but I have occasionally made original diagrams and artwork for presentations at conferences and helped put together images for meeting program covers. Most of this work is done using image processing and drawing software on a computer. Even though I don't draw much anymore, I still like art and go to museums whenever I get the chance. I enjoy photography and like taking pictures when I travel. I also like taking photographs of things like the aurora borealis and my orchids when they are in bloom. Lately, I have been doing a lot of artistic work with glass. I have been learning how to make stained glass windows and Tiffany-style lamps. I have also taken classes on making fused-glass jewelry and mosaics.

    Kris
