I know aurora's are caused by solar storms, and have seen pictures of them on other planets like jupiter and saturn. Have they been seen on neptune or uranus?

Hi there! This is a good question! Aurora have been seen on Uranus using the Hubble Space Telescope, but they don't look much like the aurora we have on Earth. You can see the pictures from Hubble and read more about the aurora on Uranus here: https://www.nasa.gov/imag...ts-auroras-on-uranus

    Hi Cynthia,
There have been observations of aurora on Uranus and Neptune
See here for some pictures of aurora on Uranus:

They are in a funny place - not at all near the rotational poles of the planet because Uranus's magnetic poles are close to the planet's equator than its poles.

Neptune also has aurora, observed by Voyager-2, but they seem to be relatively faint.

    Hi Cynthia,

You could expect to see aurorae on any planet that has a magnetic field and an atmosphere.

    Good question!
