(from webinar): What keeps water from boiling in the pipes or freezing?

Hi
With regard to the freezing, all spacecraft have carefully sized and placed heaters to keep not just the water, but all the instruments at temperatures within the range to which they have been designed.
I'm sure the thermal design of Probe's "thermal protection system" won't let the water boil!

PSP's heat shield will keep temperatures behind the shield to about room temperature. You can read more about PSP, the environment, and the instruments here:
