    susan o what would be you next alternate choice of career if you didn't study the sun?

    Hi Susan,

    Interesting question! If I could still be a physicist or a scientist I'd probably pick Astronomer or maybe Archaeologist. It is hard for me to imagine having a career that isn't science-based since that's what I'm most interested in and seem best at.

    Hi Susan,

    Actually, not all of the Solar Week Scientists study the Sun. My area of expertise is magnetospheric physics - the Earth's radiation belts, the aurora, the Earth's magnetic field, geomagnetic storms, etc.

    If I wasn't doing scientific research in magnetospheric physics, I think it would be really cool to be one of the engineers who work in mission control during launches.
