    From, Jackie L,

there was an article in a newspaper a couple days ago about this, about celebrities, and other people.

    Hello Jackie!

I do not have any pets. I grow orchids, so I have a lot of plants instead.

Hi Jackie, I have two ginger kittens that are extremely cute (and very fuzzy). They are a lot of work sometimes but always make up for it when they do something funny or cute. I grew up with a dog and we always had outdoor cats (I grew up in the countryside of Ireland) but this is the first time I have had indoor cats. I'm hoping to get a dog sometime in the future, but they require much more maintenance than I can give right now. The life of an "early-career" scientist (that means someone who is quite new to the field and is still trying to make a name for themselves) is generally kind of unpredictable - sometimes I work long hours and I do a lot of traveling - so to have a dog waiting to be walked at home is a little unfair. Someday not so far from now though, I hope to be able to get one. Claire

I have two horses and a dog. We also have some cows on our ranch but they are not really "pets". (We live in the city but have some property in the country that we go to on weekends. We can see the stars much better there!)
