    How's is possible to see through these pitch-black glasses to see the Sun, and why is it orange?

    Hi;

    There are many brands and models of safe solar-viewing glasses, they appear pitch-black because the sun is sssssooooooo bright it is important to block out most of the light in order to be safe for viewing. You should NEVER be able to see ANYTHING through these except the Sun. Some safe-viewing materials make the sun look grey, or green - so the orange that you see indicates which part of the spectrum is being blocked the most, and in your case it's everything but a very very very very tiny part that is in the orange wavelengths.
