Hi, it's me Brennan V. again.

I know the that black holes are created from collasped stars, and the sun is a star itself. But all this makes me wonder, will our sun ever turn into a black hole in the future?

Hi Brannan, It is expected that our Sun will not turn into a black hole - it will become a white dwarf. In order to form a black hole, a star would have to be much more massive than our Sun. The Sun is expected to become a red giant first, by puffing out its outer layers beyond the distance of Mars. Following this, it will collapse to become a white dwarf. Hope this helps, Claire
