Hello my name is Michael and I have a question about if we ever went to the sun, How might the suit work in order to survive?

    Hello Michael,

I'm afraid that people will never be able to travel to the Sun. Any space suit or spaceship would need to be able to withstand the Sun's extremely hot temperatures without vaporizing and protect the people inside from intense radiation. We do not know of any materials that can do this, so it is not possible to make a space suit to tolerate the extreme conditions on the Sun. Furthermore, the Sun is a big ball of ionized gas, which scientists call a plasma. The Sun does not have a solid surface on which an astronaut could land a spaceship. We are better off focusing manned exploration efforts on the Moon or Mars, and studying the Sun using remote observations from spacecraft.

    Kris
