Do solar storms effect any planets beyond Mars being they are so far away?

    Hi Victor!

Solar storms affect the planets beyond Mars! It is true that coronal mass ejections (huge clouds of solar material that are expelled in solar storms) get weaker when they travel away from the Sun, but they are still strong enough to have some effect on outer planets such as Saturn and Jupiter. We do not have very good observations of their magnetosphere, but for example measurements by Cassini have shown that auroras and radio emission on Jupiter got stronger when a coronal mass ejection impacted the planet.
