What is the strength of a magnetic field in a sunspot?

Hi John.
A sunspot at the photosphere can have a magnetic field of a few 1000 Gauss

For comparison, average magnetic field at the Earth's surface is around 0.5 Gauss. For refrigerator magnets I am finding values in the range 50 - 150 Gauss.
