Hi, I was curious, if a space shuttle went through a solar storm, would it be in danger?

    Hi Alec,

Space shuttles and the space station are in what is called low Earth orbit. There they are shielded from most of the effects of solar storms by Earth's magnetic field. However, on the space station astronauts are careful and avoid doing space walks when the Sun is very active.

    cheers,

    Terry
