How do scientists know about the sun's core, like what its made up of?

Hi Robert The only thing that provides enough energy to heat a star for billions of years is nuclear fusion. We know the pressures and temperatures needed for this to take place, so we can figure out from that what the center of the Sun (the "core") must be like.
